The American Craft Council Show in Atlanta

More than 200 of the country's leading craft artists will gather under one roof to present their latest designer, handmade work at The American Craft Council Show in Atlanta, the largest juried, indoor craft show in the southeast. The highest quality of handmade jewelry, furniture, clothing, home décor, and more, will be available for purchase at the Cobb Galleria Centre, March 11-13, 2011. Show highlights:

PREVIEW EVENT: Get an early peek of the amazing works the show has to offer! The American Craft Council is pleased to co-host a preview party event with the Museum of Design Atlanta, the evening of Thursday, Mar. 10 from 6-9pm.  Join us for tasty hors d'oeuvres, festive beverages and first choice shopping!  All proceeds will jointly benefit the American Craft Council and Museum of Design Atlanta.  For more details and to purchase tickets for the preview party, click here.

SAVE MONEY & SUPPORT ARTISTS with CRAFT CREDITS!  For only $75 you can purchase $100 in craft credits. There are a limited number of credits available for each participating artist, so hurry to the ACC booth to purchase yours.

LAWN & GARDEN: Features artists who craft furniture and decorative accessories to compliment and withstand the fluctuations of the great outdoors.

GREEN CRAFT: As a reflection of our social responsibility to the environment, this category features artists who incorporate recycled or found materials and use eco-friendly techniques into creating their work. 

ALTCRAFT:  The Council invited artists whose work illustrates the innovative techniques and materials of the burgeoning new handmade craft movement to apply to a special section of the show.  The Council is proud to present a national stage for these artists who tend to exhibit at smaller, local craft shows.

DEMO STAGE: Lively demonstrations with regional specialists in ceramics, glass, fiber, jewelry, and wood from the Spruill Arts Center and Indie Craft Experience participants.

LUNCH & LEARN with American Craft’s editor Monica Moses: Friday, March 11 at 12:30 p.m. Grab lunch at the show café and pull up a chair as Ms. Moses discusses Craft and the Cure for Stressful Modern Life: How making things by hand has been shown, throughout history, to help people connect, learn, communicate, and heal. 

$5 AFTER 5 CRAFT SOCIAL: Enjoy an extended evening at the show, open until 8 p.m. with DJ Yvonne Monet from DaveFM, a Stitch ‘n Bitch with the Atlanta Knitting Guild and some lively fun. Bring your own yarn and needles for complimentary show admission after 5 p.m.

CRAFT-INSPIRED CAKE DISPLAY: In honor of the ACC’s 70th birthday, Atlanta’s top cake designers have been paired with ACC artists to craft cakes you’ll have to see to believe.
